A Mental Health service in Tasmania is in need of a General Adult Psychiatrist to assist in delivering mental health care to the community of the region. This state wide service will see you located in the main business hub of Tasmania; however, your work will stretch across the state with different satellite locations requiring your expertise.

As a General Adult Psychiatrist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary mental health service delivering high quality mental health care. Your duties will include providing a comprehensive general adult inpatient and community psychiatric service in the southern region of Tasmania. You will also act as a Specialist to mental health professionals and health service providers such as General Family Medicine Practitioners’ and other health agencies, with regard to the assessment and management of individuals with mental health disorders. You will also be required to undertake supervisory responsibilities with Psychiatric Registrars and other junior medical staff as required.
