A rural Queensland Mental Health Service requires a Psychiatry Clinical Director to lead their team. This district that you are working in covers an area of over 300,000 square kilometres and services many of the remote communities of inland Northern Queensland with a total catchment population in excess of 20,000 people. Based at the local base hospital, there are a range of community centre and primary care clinics along with major regional hospitals that are all part of your network.

The Psychiatry Clinical Director position that is available at this Queensland Hospital is sure to be a challenging yet rewarding role for you. Being the head of the Psychiatry Department, you will have a dedicated team of Consultants, Registrars and other junior medical staff who will assist and work together to provide seamless mental health care. From supervising and managing all staff associated with the department to arranging appropriate investigations, treatment, ongoing care and referral of your own patients, each day will differ from the last.

Described as the Oasis of the Outback, a gleaming mirage on the horizon for travellers from all directions, this region nestles among the famous Ranges on the banks of flowing rivers. This area has grown from strength to strength over the years but the harsh picturesque landscape has barely changed, becoming one of the main draw-cards for visitors and relocating families. If you have that adventurous spirit there are ample places to fish, camp, four wheel drive, or relax and enjoy an Outback sunset.
